#1 Wire numbering

Hello,

is there a chance hpw to keep the wire numbers the same before and after device if needed? Also, as you can see in the picture, why the first wire on the top left corner is L9 and not L1?

Thank you!

Hmmm....

Thanks for posting on the forum

Yes there is, and we'll show you how later, but we're as surprised as you are about the position of L1, and we would like to address this first.

Could you make a package of your project and attach it to a reply?  This will help us understand what's going on.

(Note: Only you and the SkyCAD staff will have access to your packaged project.  All other users won't even be able to see the file.)

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Hello,

attached is the project file as you requested.

Thank you for any help!

Not exactly what we needed...

Thanks for uploading your project file, but unfortunately we need a little more thann that.

You need you to make a package of your project (click the link for instructions) which will not only include the project file, but all its dependencies (symbols, catalogue parts, etc.)

We will look at this as soon as we get your packaged project.

Sorry, this is the package

Thanks!

Thanks for uploading the package.

We'll look at this and get back to you shortly.

Ok!

Ok, with regards to the L9 wire number, a simple wire renumbering as solved it for us.

- Select your project from the tree view

- Click 'Renumbering process/Renumber wire'

All should fall into place.

As for making your distribution block 'Flow through' (meaning that the wire number from each side won't change), follow these steps:

  1. Select the block and click 'Home/Open Block'
  2. From the 'Drawing' tab, click 'Show/Hide connection points' to make sure connection points are displayed.
  3. Select a pair of connection points using CTRL or SHIFT, go to the 'Drawing' tab and select 'Group connection points together'.
  4. Check the Flow through checkbox and click OK
  5. Repeat steps 2-3 as needed
  6. Save or Save As the symbol(s)
  7. Delete your distribution block from the sheet and insert a new one.

From that point on, if you run wire renumbering again, you'll get the same wire number on each side of your distribution block.

Let us know if all this works out!

Renumbering just doesn't work

Renumbering just doesn't work. The it was still L9 even though it was first wire from the top left corner. When I changed the blosk properties (flow through for the connection points) and the hit the renumbering, it changed to L1, but it didn't change before I modified the block.

The same issue happened again with the control wire - as you can see in the screen shot, first control wire is numbered "2", but in the second power supply it is "3" and "4". It doesn't make sense to me.

What button do you press exactly when running renumbering?

"Renumber wires"

As I continue with the project, the numbering is getting more and more confusing. Please see anothet screen shot.

Yep, that's the right button...

Please allow us a bit of time to try to figure out what's going on and we'll get back to you.

Thanks for your patience.

There has to be something in

There has to be something in my project settings. You said that the renumbering function works fine for you, correct?

No problem at all!  It's more us that are sorry for the issues...

That's what we're thinking, but we're not sure which setting can cause that...
