#1 Renumbering Issue

I am not sure why the renumbering is causing this to happen. I tried renaming the top contactor coil to C0746 and the bottom one to C0750, made sure tags are not frozen, and hit renumber. It puts it back to the screenshot. Any ideas?

Hmmm....

Thanks for posting on the forum.

(...) made sure tags are not frozen, and hit renumber.

If you made sure tags are not frozen, than the behavior you are describing is normal.

Feezing tags (which should normally happen automatically when manually defining a tag value), prevents renumbering process from changing the tag value.

Let us know if this is clear.

I understand that behavior,

I understand that behavior, but the renumbering seems to be numbering the components wrongly here instead of using the correct rung number. The coils should be numbered 746 and 750 even by the renumber I would think.

Numbering occurs based on the first symbol found.

When numbering is defined based on the position of a component's graphical position, the first symbol found is the reference position.  In the case of the relay numbered C0750, the NC contact is found first, which is in line with rung 0750.

In these scenarios when the contact is positionned before the coil, you have to force numbering manually.

Ahh, I understand. I assumed

Ahh, I understand. I assumed numbering was based on some "primary" symbol which I also assumed was the coil.

Thanks for the heads up! I'll workaround this as you suggested.

You're not the only one...

I assumed numbering was based on some "primary" symbol which I also assumed was the coil.

You're not the only one who thought that, and we are working on figuring out a way to define 'priorities' on blocks for such a purpose, although it hasn't been a priority so far.

Thank you very much for the

Thank you very much for the support guys! I just wanted to explicitly praise you some more in this post for the phenomenal support you all provide over forums as well as urgent live support whenever ordered.

With this said, I assume you potentially look at the "Last reply" in the forums to quickly ascertain who needs service in an efficient manner. So I feel conflicted by my own personal anxiety to proclaim "Thank you" and praise on every thread as well as a competing goal to help serve you in return by typing less for you to respond to, haha.

So my plan is to condense all my thank yous and praise to this post and save you an extra response for each thread. Please let me know if my planned bypass of some gestures of politeness/manners in the name of efficiency is actually useful to you so it is not in vain.

Thanks again, you guys truly rock.

Your mosy welcome!

Thanks a lot for the praise about our support.  This is very much appreciated.

And don't worry about asking too many questions on the forum.  This is what its there for, and we'd rather answer question to make sure things work the way you need them to, rather than not ask and end up feeling not getting the most out of SkyCAD.

Please let me know if my planned bypass of some gestures of politeness/manners in the name of efficiency is actually useful to you so it is not in vain.

Fine by us!
