#1 Mess in diagram after SkyCad restart

Hi.

I'm looking for new ECad software and just found SkyCAD and decide to test standard version first.

I placed some components, draw some wires etc. and then saved project and close SkyCAD. After run it again and opened up recent project I saw something like this (picture bellow).

Any advice? The project I made is not important at all but i think about SkyCAD future use and i cannot accept such situations. Is it a known bug or maybe I made something "bad"?

Please zip & upload your environment

Thanks for posting on the forum.

This is indeed irregular behaviour. Would you mind uploading your environment to this forum post? Only SkyCAD staff will be able to see your environment. Instructions on how to upload your environment are here.

Here You go.

Ok.

Thanks for uploading your environment.

This is the result of a bug we recenty discovered, which rarely occurs.  We should be able to fix this up for you and send back your project shortly with connections all straghtened up.

Thanks for your patience!

Don't bother I don't need it.

Don't bother I don't need it. I would rather be happy to get advice how to avoid this bug.

Ok.

Thanks for letting us know you don't need us to fix your project.

We are currently working on figuring out why such a scenario occurs.  What's reassuring is that it seems to be very rare.  One thing that seem to be common to all the other cases where this occured is the fact the user openned the connection, made a modification to some property and saved the connection prior to noticing the issue when openning their project afterward.  Did you perhaps modify the Power connection yourself shortly before noticing the issue?  (Not that it would be your fault, but we think something in the inner guts of the connection data gets reset when the connection is modified, but we have yet to figure out which modification triggers such a reset...)

Thanks in advanced for any further input you can give us with that regard!

Well, It happened again...

Well, It happened again... and yes, I modified the connection properties (specifically connection colour).

It seems I don't have much luck with Your software.

Or maybe you just identified the exact thing that triggers this issue!  (Which would be great!)

Can you give (as much precisely as possible) the steps you took to reproduce the issue?

Thanks in advance!

It's realy hard to say, what

It's realy hard to say, what I was exactly doing. For sure in both cases I had two sheets in projects and few connections with diferents colours (on sheet 1).

I tried to reproduce the issue one more time but with no luck.

Thanks!

Thanks for the extra info!

In any case you already were very helpful, thanks a lot!  We will keep digging to figure out what's going on, but we think we have a good lead.

We'll keep you updated!

This time I did nothing with connection properties.

Thanks for letting us know.

If you close (without saving) and reopen your project, do you get the same behavior on the same connection segments?  (Still trying to gather as much information as possible...)

If I close and open again

If I close and open again nothing changes.

Hmmm...

Thanks for the extra information.

We are sorry you are experimenting such issues with SkyCAD.  You must know that we are taking such issue very seriously.

Given the fact you seem to get it on a regular basis, we would very much like to work with you more directly to understand what's going on, and resolve this issue once and for all.

We will contact you directly in a short while.

Thanks for your patience and cooperation with this.
