Thanks for posting on the forum.

It looks like you've switched to IEC, perhaps by opening an IEC project.

To switch your project back to IEEE, follow these steps:

1. Close all items you have open in the tree view (projects, components, etc.)
2. Run quick setup and choose IEEE
3. Open your project

You should now be using the Symbol Library (which is the IEEE symbol library) where the blocks are vertical, to accept horizontal conections.
