#1 How indicate cable numering

Hello,

I have a cable with numbering, and there are cross referenced.

Is there a way to get the cable numbers on the referenced page? Now it is not possible to see what wire from the cable should be connected where.

Like this, but this is done

Like this, but this is done manually

It would be even more easy if I can point the OPR direct to the connection point of the component. But that looks impossible? Saves we drwing wire and wanting to sync the wire labels

Here are two options

Thanks for posting on the forum.

It would be best to insert another cable indicator symbol on the connections of your second screenshot, then link that cable indicator to the first one. This would have the result you're looking for, see below. (I'm showing them both on one sheet, but the principle is the same.)

It is possible, but not quite intuitive. You can't insert the OPR directly to the connection point of the component, but you can copy the OPR you need from another sheet, and paste it onto the connection point of the component. You'd have to make 100% sure the connection point of the OPR is on top of the connection point of the component:

Hope this helps!

Have you tried staggering the OPR?

I have done this in the past.

This would give you a different OPR reference for each.

Ok thanks,

Ok thanks,

Hoi do I get the OPR reference numbers like you do?

This is what I was suggesting.

Then the OPR would have unique references....

The sheet number is 4 digits long:

Hope this helps.

If I insert the cable

If I insert the cable indicator symbol on the second page, and do not assign a component to it, then both symbols get a strange numbering.

If I attach the same component to the cable indicator, the I get the messge Not enough wires

If I insert symbols on both cables and then link them, after linking they get colours. But if I then try to add the component to it, is has again not enough wires.

Hmmm....

We do have an issue that was reported in this recent topic.

That said, if you assign the cable part-number after linking the two cable indicator symbols together, it should work well.

Let us know if it works out.

Ok I got it working b

Ok I got it working b removing the old component, all connections without cable indication.

Add both cable indicators symbols without assigning components.

The linkt the second one to the first one.

Then cable indications appear next to the connections.

Then assign the right component.

Great!

Glad to know it worked out!

We should have this issue fixed by for the next release.   (This way you'll be able to link cables indicators together even if a part number has been defined.)

Cable numbering

Some of my cables/wires have negative numbers. How do I change them?

Could be due to changing a numbering system

Thanks for posting on the forum, Chris.

Could you upload a screenshot?
