#1 Can't import IO List

I've tried following the tutorial and searched around but I cannot get the IO list to import from excel. I get a pop up error with a SkyCAD error that says

"""

An error occurred trying to read the excel document.
Error detail: Object reference not set to an instance of the object.

"""

When i click 'OK', it says I/O import process completed 0 new I/O were successfully imported.

Please help!

Please upload a zip of your IO list

Thanks for posting on the forum.

Please upload a zip of your IO list to your next reply so we can try ourselves.

Thanks!

Thanks, see attached.

Thanks, see attached.

Thanks

We seem to be able to import it OK.

Perhaps you're trying to import the list while it's open in Excel?

I just checked and it doesn't

I just checked and it doesn't matter if excel is open or not.  Still having the same issue.

Please upload a zip of your Standard Environment folder

Please upload a zip of your Standard Environment folder. This tutorial about backing up your environment folder will indicate exactly which folder we are talking about. (Note: only you and the SkyCAD staff will have access to your environment. All other users won't even be able to see the file.).

Please also let us know which project you are trying to import the IO list into.

same problem

I'm having the same problem described in the initial post here. was a solution found? I've also tried to import IOs as a CSV file, a 97-2003 excel workbook, as well as a modern excel extension (*.xlsx) with no luck in any case.

many thanks!

Please try using the Excel

I am getting this same error message. Was a solution found here?

Please attached your IO list...

Thanks for posting on the forum.

Could you please make a ZIP file of your Excel IO list and attach it to a reply?

We'll look at this as soon as we get the file.

It works for us...

Thanks for uploading your IO list.

But it worked for us without any problem.

Are you using Microsoft Excel or another spreadsheet editor that is compatible with Excel files?

In any case, could you make a package of your project and attach it to a reply?  (Note: only you and the SkyCAD Staff will have access to your packaged project.  All other users won't even be abe to see it.)

We'll try to see if the issue might be related to your project...

I used excel to edit the

I used excel to edit the document, then I transferred it to the computer with SkyCAD on it and tried to import it. The computer with SkyCAD has a different spreadsheet editor, so I tried using excel in case that was the issue.

I've attached a package of my project, let me know what you find!

Ah, ok...

The computer with SkyCAD has a different spreadsheet editor

That's the source of your problem.  SkyCAD requires the true Microsoft Excel to import IO lists.
