#1 cannot change wire numbers in a multi conductor cable

made a multi conductor cable.  asigned a preconfigured wire type.  I wnt to be able to manually set which wire off of the condctor is 1,2,3,4....I cannot seem to change this once the wire is all connected,.  I am using a wire type by color and a predetemined tamplate for the wire that we always use

Try 'Swap wires'

Thanks for posting on the forum.

If you're trying to force a particular wire color by trying to change its value manually, you will get issues since uniqueness control is applied on cable wires.  (No wires should carry the same color/number.)

The to define which cable wire connects which component is to use the 'Swap wires' feature.

This tutorial about Advance cable management will give you exact instructions on how to do this.  (Fast forward to 2min30sec.)

Let us know if this works out.

but if not all of the 12 wire

but if not all of the 12 wire colors were used you cannot swap with something that is not there.  The cable is set up as a 12 condcutor cable with colors.  The diagram is not curently showing the blk wire and I want the red wire now to be the blk wire.  No ability to swap becasue it is not showing up as being used.

Yes you can.

but if not all of the 12 wire colors were used you cannot swap with something that is not there.

If you select just one connection instead of two, a dialogue box will be displayed where you'll have all wires form the cable displayed.

nope... only the used colors

nope... only the used colors show up when 1 is selected.

I had to fake populate the

I had to fake populate the others before this would work

This means you did not have all waires defined.

nope... only the used colors show up when 1 is selected.

This means your cable did not have extra/unused wires defined.

When defining a cable catalogue part in order to use it later, you can add wires to is by double-clicking the cable and reaching the 'Create/Add' tab where you see the 'New wire' button.  Once all wires are defined, you can save the cable to catalogue, and all its wired will come with the cable when you use 'Assign from catalogue' in the future.

The wires were all defined

The wires were all defined clarl;y with colors and numbers.  My fix worked but was cumbersome.  Please explain better what the problem is.  12 conductors are defined with colors.

Hmmm....

Please explain better what the problem is.

In that case we don't understand.  When selecting only one connection that has a cable wire associted to it, and pressing the 'Swap wires' button, all wires from the cable should be displayed, not just the used ones.
