#1 Adding terminal numbers to a block - [jvalentine]

Hello,

One of my E-Stops has no terminal numbers assigned to the pins. I suspected that adding them back would be a simple matter of showing some sort of "terminal number" component property on each connection, but that is not the case. How would I add terminal numbers back?

Thank you,

Jake Valentine

Hmmm...

Thanks for posting on the forum.

It could be that you deleted the pins themselves (and not just the pin text) by accident.

If that's the case, you will want to delete the symbol and insert a new one, to be safe.

Please let us know if that helps.

That does not help my issue...

Jeff,

That did not quite solve my problem. When I replaced the Estop and assiogned a new part from the catelogue, the pin numbers still did not show up. Attached is a photo of what I see in the block editor, if that helps.

Thank you,

Jake Valentine

Ah, OK

Thanks for the screenshot - that helps.

From that screenshot, it appears that when you insert this symbol onto a sheet (without assigning any part number to it from catalogue) no pin numbers will show.

From that screenshot (after doing Open Block on the symbol), do this:

  1. Select a connection point
  2. Go to the Drawing tab and select Show Component Property whilst holding the SHIFT key
  3. Choose Terminal Number and click OK
  4. Repeat for all connection points
  5. Close and save your symbol

Insert the symbol onto a sheet. Are the pin numbers shown?

Thank you! A related issue has come up...

Jeff,

That solved my issue, I appreciate it! Pin numbers are now shown.

A new issue has arrisen though. When creating a pinout table with the same Estops (That now have corrrect pin numbers), the created table is completely blank.

Thank you,

Great! Thanks for letting us know.

Please try run Renumber Wires, then let us know what the result is.
We're assuming there are, of course, proper components connected to the e/stop via connections.

Fixed

Jeff,

That worked to fix it. Thank you!

Great!

Thanks for letting us know.

It is not working in my case... (all the basic checks done)

Please upload a package of your project and let us know the name of the component.

You need the Advanced license

Thanks for uploading that.

In your case, you will need at least the Advanced license to achieve what you want in the pin-out table.

well...

For Standard license user, this feature should be kept off or warning pop-up dialog box should appear with license restrictions.
